Once again the awesome combination of the Di 7 fast sinking fly line and boobie flies has been producing mid winter bass for me. I normally use two #4 boobies on at once (like I would for trout) and have found that orange has been deadly once again. I cast out, wait for the line to sink and then retrieve the flies back erratically pretty much the same as I would do for trout. Not too fast but certainly not ultra slow either. The total length of my leader with both flies on is 2 meters. Works for me....Check out www.seanmillsflyfishing.weebly.com for my awesome DVDs and E books on fly fishing for carp and bass.

Big carp bubble bashing
Its been a while since I have posted anything on my blog.. Been a hectic start to the year work wise. I managed a few trips for carp and bass and did well with some awesome bass and the odd small carp. I recently fished a local lake for 2 hours after a night and morning of rain. I fished the inlet casting to feeding bubbles in about 40cm to a meter of water using my carp firtz fly tied on the awesome Mouche #8 wet fly hook. I used an orange yarn indicator 1.5 meters up my leader to help spot takes. The carp feeding bubbles where fairly sporadic but I managed 4 takes and 4 carp landed between 6 and 9,5kg...
Here are some pics of the fish... Remember to check out www.seanmillsflyfshing.weebly.com for DVDs and E books on fly fishing for carp and other local species...
